South Ribble Museum and Exhibition Centre

Following recent advice provided by Government in relation to COVID-19, we have taken the decision to close the South Ribble Museum until further notice. This includes cancellation of all planned events due to take place at the Museum.

It is important we take the advice from the Government in order to do what we can to delay the spread of the virus across our communities. Our priority is to protect those around us and we urge everyone to follow Government and Public Health England guidance as it emerges.

Entrance to the museum as well as our exhibitions and activities are free of charge.

Situated beside the Parish Church we are conveniently positioned in the centre of old Leyland housing the Borough’s small, but interesting, museum collection.

Moves to establish a museum, and an exhibition centre for use by local artists gathered pace when the Old Grammar School at Leyland was acquired by South Ribble Borough Council and restored to public use in 1978.
